Research
Through a combination of in-person conversations, signing up for newsletters such as Men’s Health and looking at similar campaigns tied to Men’s mental health promotion, I came to a few conclusions:
The message needed to be short & direct
Bold typography
Dark color palette
These combined into a curiosity-first approach. We set the tone, hinted at an event and invited the user (students) to opt-in to participation. This increases their buy-in and autonomy at the event (a panel discussion titled Why Asking for Help Isn’t Weakness).
This approach led to increased engagement with the handout (160%) and attendance (400%) compared to promotion that listed all of the event details.
